DESCRIPTION:General Meeting\n05 March 26\nSubmitted by Tim O’Neill \nProposal to Change/Amend ARTICLE III of the CONSTITUTION as follows : \n  \nCURRENT CONSTITUTION – ON Line effective 06 Nov 25 \nARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP\nSection 1) Members shall be persons of good character and reputation providing travel industry or related services\, subject to the qualifications outlined in Article III\, Section 2.\nSection 2) Qualifications for Membership\na) Individuals who are owners\, managers or sales persons employed in an IATA and/or ARC appointed retail travel agency or CLIA appointed travel personnel or TRUE appointed travel personnel\, in the state of New Jersey. TRUE travel personnel shall provide three industry recommendations. b) Individuals who are directly engaged in the business of furnishing travel services directly to retail agents primarily in the State of New Jersey\, Le. sales/marketing personnel of airlines\, cruise\, motor coach\, rail\, government tourist offices\, tour operators\, etc. c) Individuals engaged in either of the above (Article III\, Section 2) activities but not primarily in New Jersey\, are eligible for membership as ACT non-voting members. Individuals who provide services to the retail agent are also eligible as ACT non-voting members (Le. computer\, trade show\, and travel insurance company representatives\, etc.). d) A complimentary lifetime membership will be given to all ACT Past Presidents. Past Presidents will have Board voting privileges\, if they are members in good standing as in and regularly attend Board meetings. e) Act requires that persons seeking membership provide documentation of the credentials required for membership. Persons can produce valid credentials in the form of either a CLIA\, IATA\,TRUE OR ARC card. If person seeking membership does not possess an industry card\, they can submit a valid agency IATA/ARC list with their name on it and the agency identifying number blacked out.\nSection 3) Members in Good Standing\na) Individuals\, who have been accepted per Article III Sections 1 and 2\, shall be considered members in good standing when said member have fully paid their dues for the current fiscal year.\nb) All members are expected to behave in a professional\, courteous\, non-disruptive manner at all functions of ACT. c) If a member is determined to be in violation of Article III\, Section 1 or paragraph c above by majority vote of the Officers and Board of Trustees\, membership privileges will be suspended pending a review and recommendation from the Membership Committee.
